Walter Hockings

DIRECTOR, Bcom, JP, Tax Agent, FTI

Walter understands small business tax requirements from the inside, having worked in his family’s business for several years before acquiring O’Neills Accountants in 2019.

As a director and financial controller, Walter developed additional skillsets such as credit and debtor control, risk analysis, Queensland and Western Australia payroll tax skills and monthly reporting for groups. He brings these insights to work with our current clients by guiding them to apply accounting and taxation legislation in a practical manner. After graduating from Bond University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in accountancy (Bcom), Walter spent several years working in accounting firms providing business services advice. He has also completed a Graduate Certificate in Taxation (GradCertTax) at Curtin University. He is a registered tax agent with the Tax Practitioners Board and a fellow of The Tax Institute.

Gerard Liardet

DIRECTOR, BCom, CA

Gerard specialises in tax returns and financials for small to medium enterprises and individuals. He enjoys helping clients to save money where they can and getting the best outcome for his clients.

Before joining O’Neills Hockings & Co Advisory in 2019, Gerard worked for a prominent property development group as a financial accountant, where he developed expertise in the construction and property development industry. Prior to that, he spent two years as a senior accountant for a private equity firm in London. Like Walter, he also worked for an accounting firm providing business services advice earlier in his career. Originally from Goulburn and with a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Wollongong, Gerard is also a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Stacey Downing

CLIENT SERVICES OFFICER / BOOKKEEPER

Stacey knows our business and our clients inside out. Among her many talents, she is the person who will save a client’s MYOB file and help put their paperwork in order.

Stacey joined the business in February 2013 to provide administration support, and her role has grown significantly over the years. She prepares clients’ files for the professional staff to complete their work. She also helps with Xero bookkeeping for some of our clients.

Clair Kingsman

RECEPTION / ADMINISTRATION

Clair is the friendly face clients usually speak to when they first call or email the office. She will help with checklists, quotes, invoices, appointments and more.

Clair joined the team in 2016 and has a long history in administration across a broad range of sectors. She is uber efficient and her superior communication skills and customer service focus are highly valued by our clients.
